Reading the News

My morning routine has changed over the last few months. For about 3 years I have been quite consistant in spending time each morning in quite devotion and meditation. Being a Christian this has meant that a portion of my time is spent in actually reading the Bible. One of my pet peeves is when people call themselves ‘something’ then go around making statements but don’t actually study the ‘something’ they claim. This applies to all major religions, those who practise Counselling, Alternative Therapists, and more. I guess you could just label it ally hypocrasy! But I digress!

What led to the change in my routine was the introduction of my Blackberry. Which is actually lavendar. We had decided that since I was really missing my Palm Pilot and we were feeling the crunch of being a one computer family with 4 active users that the Blackberry would be an appropriate choice.

Turns out it was a good choice.

The change in my routine is that I now read news stories every day. I’m not really sure why.

Daily meditation, I understand why.

Daily news? I am reconsidering this routine change!

  1. I hear you. I read the city papers, but most national and international news is either banal (I really don’t care who she’s dating now) or depressing (I already know the latest attempt failed).

Except, the default page for Yahoo has news bites. You’ll notice the tech tab was taken off due to lack of interest? The lack of interest was because the tab was broken.

I usually learn about important events because friends discuss them, then I research them myself.

9-11 replays is what drove it home for me.
